Has it really been six months already? In less than a week, the Ambler Farmers’ Market returns and it feels like only yesterday we said goodbye to all of our loyal patrons for the season. While you all have spent the last six months dreaming of lazy Saturday mornings at the market, teeming with fresh produce, hot coffee, bombastic baked goods and delicious outdoor brunch, we have been hard at work adding vendors, developing programs and just generally trying to make your market experience the jewel of your week. And boy, do we have some stuff in store for you!
Of course your favorites are returning…Claybrick Farms, Alice Bakery, Taproot Farm, Backyard Beans Coffee…they, and more of your old friends are returning…AND we also have some new friends for you to meet! Check out our updated vendor page to see what you can expect during market season. How about a full-time, gluten free vendor? Maybe some french pastry is more your bag. Pickles, you say? Yep, got ’em…got ’em all, this season! Go ahead, click the link…we’ll wait. 🙂
Now that you’ve gotten your appetite sufficiently wet, let’s talk about some of what we’ll have going on this season!
We are introducing our Frequent Shopper Card! For every $20 you spend at any vendor, they will initial your card. Fill 10 spaces and you bring your card to the market tent to enter in our monthly drawing for market swag and a $25 gift certificate to the vendor of your choice…swanky, right?
We will continue to have our festival days (who doesn’t love Strawberry Fest?), but now, we will have special theme days that will have vendors offering discounts on certain products at their respective stands. The first one, 60’s day, is coming up on May 20th. We will be playing 60’s music, have activities and contests related to that swinging decade AND vendors will have something discounted that ends in, you guessed it, 60. More information will follow…get your tie-dyes ready.
Speaking of tie dyes, we have all new shirts and bags for sale this season. You asked, we listened.
The Trax Outdoor Cafe’ returns AND a special composting program is being offered by Chef Steve Waxman for market patrons. Trax has a large compost pile in the back that we are inviting patrons to add to and take from throughout the season. Some people want to compost and can’t – we want to change that. Participation is free, but in order to participate you must come for our composting talk given by the Penn State Extension. This will begin day one, May 6th. More information to follow.
Stay tuned to Facebook for updates and a newsletter coming out this week. We are so happy to be back and look forward to seeing everyone at the market. This is your market Ambler, we hope to see you!
